Putin demanded to speed up the consideration of the draft law on ecotourism

The head of state stated this during the announcement of the address to the Federal Assembly.

The President pointed out that the Government had discussed the prepared draft law on the development of tourism in specially protected natural areas.

"He must clearly define what and where it is possible and what cannot be built, and in general the principles of the ecotourism industry. This is a very important issue for our country. I ask the State Duma to speed up the consideration of this bill", - Putin said.

So far, the issue of tourism development in specially protected natural areas in the country is controversial. The current legislation strictly limits the possibility of capital construction within the boundaries of protected areas.

Restrictions were introduced for the sake of preserving the flora and fauna of such lands, as well as protecting biological diversity. At the same time, there is a great demand on the part of business and travelers to visit such territories, as well as the possibility of placing well—equipped recreation places for tourists there - hotels, campsites, glamping and other facilities.

According to tour operators, against the background of restrictions on the issuance of visas to Russians after the start of the military operation on Ukraine's demand for domestic tourism has grown. However, the level of development of the hospitality infrastructure in many regions of the country does not yet meet the needs of vacationers.
