According to a document published in the "Official Journal of the European Union", the EU extends the previously imposed sanctions against Russia until February 24 next year. The measures come into force the day after publication.
Before that, there was a six-month extension - until July 31. After February last year, the sectoral sanctions announced by Brussels after Crimea joined Russia were significantly expanded.
Earlier it became known that Washington will announce new restrictive measures against Moscow. The restrictions will include export controls to Russia and sanctions against key sectors of the Russian economy. The round of sanctions will be timed to coincide with the anniversary of the Russian special operation in Ukraine. The G7 and EU countries have also voiced similar intentions.
