"Counterfeit!": manufacturers demanded to return the state control over the quality of cement

According to production workers, after the abolition of state control in 2020, the share of counterfeit goods in the Russian market is growing.

As Kommersant notes, in the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Construction and Rosstandart supports the return of state control over the turnover of a number of building materials. However, the Ministry of Economy does not agree: department officials believe that this threatens to increase the administrative burden on business.

According to industrialists, 42,000 objects were affected by the earthquake in Turkey, during the construction of which building materials were used without proper inspection.

Cement quality control in the Russian Federation was canceled in 2020 as part of a pandemic moratorium. Now the state does not control the quality of building materials. The scammers who flooded the market with counterfeit were not slow to take advantage of this. Experts believe that the volume of such cement in the country has already reached 3.16 million tons, and dry building mixes — 4 million tons. Every fourth kilogram of products can already be a fake on the market. This becomes a direct threat to the safety of buildings and structures.

Manufacturers demand to return to the Russian Federation the state standard that worked until 2021. This should protect citizens from the collapse of buildings erected using falsified cement.
