The President of South Ossetia, Alan Gagloev, was diagnosed with coronavirus. The meeting of the head of the republic with Russian President Vladimir Putin was postponed, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

Alan Gagloyev passed the test the day before. Now the head of the republic feels well. He continues to work remotely. Upon his return from Russia, he will go to self-isolation, Dmitry Peskov added. His words are quoted by TASS.

It's worth reminding that the meeting between the two presidents was supposed to take place on February 22. At the meeting, it was planned to discuss the prospects of bilateral cooperation, in particular, in the socio-economic sphere.

Last June, the President of South Ossetia visited Moscow to consult on holding a referendum on the republic's accession to Russia. The decree on this occasion was signed by former President Anatoly Bibilov. Alan Gagloyev said that it is too early to hold a referendum, but generally supported this initiative. Alan Gagloyev instructed to hold consultations with Moscow on this issue.
