Also, the new FOM survey records an increase in the prestige of the military in society, as stated by 57% of the survey participants. A neutral assessment was given by 25% of respondents, and 9% of participants stated a decrease in prestige.
72% of respondents agreed with the statement that conscription in the army is a "school of life", and 19% of respondents called it "lost time".
At the same time, 51% of the survey participants consider February 23 to be a holiday for all men, and 47% of respondents called it a military holiday. Another 3% of respondents found it difficult to answer.
71% of Russians consider the holiday itself important, and 26% of respondents have the opposite opinion.
The survey was conducted in the period of February 10-12 in 53 subjects of the Russian Federation, 104 localities. 1,500 Russians took part in it. Sociologists noted that among the men surveyed, 29% of respondents said they had experience in the army, 15% said they had no experience, and 1% of respondents found it difficult to answer.
