The G7 countries have agreed to increase budget support for Ukraine this year to $39 billion. This is stated in the joint statement of the finance ministers and central Bank governors of the G7 countries following the meeting in Bangalore.

"We are firmly committed to meeting Ukraine's urgent short-term financing needs. For 2023, based on the needs of the country's government, we have increased our budget and economic support commitments to $39 billion", - the statement reads.

The statement notes that the increase in this amount will guarantee the functioning of the Ukrainian government and stabilize the economic situation in the country.

The meeting of finance ministers and heads of central banks of the G20 countries is taking place in India. Earlier, the authorities of this country expressed fears that this meeting would again escalate into a showdown between Russia and Western countries. In New Delhi, they urged not to do this, since a huge number of economic and financial problems have accumulated in the world and "it's time to end the showdown".
