In his message, illustrated with a photo of the Eternal Flame at the Grave of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow, he noted that Defender of the Fatherland Day is a special holiday for all Russians.
"Selfless service to the Motherland, loyalty to duty and honor, the desire to defend its security and independence in spite of any threats is the main thing that our time demands from every citizen of Russia. Today, as many years ago, we are giving a decisive rebuff to hostile forces, revived Nazism", - the deputy chairman of the Security Council wrote.
He expressed gratitude to those "who are steadfastly and courageously fighting on the front line, who are bringing victory closer with their work".
At the same time, it became known that on February 23, Defender of the Fatherland Day, Russian President Vladimir Putin laid a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Soldier at the Kremlin Wall and honored the memory of the fallen soldiers.
It's worth reminding that the Grave of the Unknown Soldier is a monument-symbol in honor of the soldiers who died in battle. The ashes of an unknown Soviet soldier were transferred from a mass grave in the Moscow region and solemnly reburied in Alexander Garden in 1966, in 1967, the Eternal Flame was opened there.
