The speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin (pictured) has published a call not to congratulate on Defender of the Fatherland Day those Russians who "escaped" and "committed a treacherous act".

He stated that in Russian residents are used to congratulating men on February 23, and women on March 8. Volodin suggested "honoring our soldiers and officers, their mothers, wives, children. Those who work in the workshop, produce military products, sew clothes, grow bread. Both men and women. All those who faithfully serve Russia".

He wished these citizens good health "and all the best".

At the end of the congratulations published in the telegram channel, Volodin made a note that "this holiday does not apply to those who ran away, abandoned their relatives and friends, having committed a treacherous act".

Earlier, among the "traitors" in the State Duma, it was proposed to include those who, after the announcement of a special military operation (SVO) and partial mobilization, "fled abroad" or publicly criticized SVO.

The State Duma proposed to deprive such Russians of property in the Russian Federation and even citizenship. But then it turned out that such calls contradict the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
