On February 23, Defender of the Fatherland Day, the Russian leader laid a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Soldier at the Kremlin Wall and paid tribute to the fallen soldiers.
Recall that the Grave of the Unknown Soldier is a monument-symbol in honor of the soldiers who died in battle. The ashes of an unknown Soviet soldier were transferred from a mass grave in the Moscow region and solemnly reburied in the Alexander Garden in 1966, in 1967, the Eternal Flame was opened there.
The day before, Putin delivered a speech in Luzhniki at a rally concert in honor of Defender of the Fatherland Day. He took the stage together with the participants of the special operation, pilots, infantrymen, paratroopers and sailors.
