The Moldovan authorities stated that the information about the armed provocation planned by Ukraine in Transnistria does not correspond to reality. Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on its preparation.

"The state authorities do not confirm the information distributed this morning by the Russian Ministry of Defense", - the Moldovan government said in a statement.

The authorities of the country urged residents to remain calm and follow only the information that the official authorities distribute. "Our agencies cooperate with foreign partners, and in case of a threat to the country, the society will be informed immediately," the government added.

Former President Igor Dodon called on incumbent President Maya Sandu to warn Ukraine against hostile actions in Transnistria. "Maya Sandu should clearly tell the leadership of Ukraine: we don't need your help, don't drag us into a war. However, unfortunately, the Moldovan leadership is following the Ukrainian scenario. Exactly", - he said. Igor Dodon called on Ukraine to deal with its own issues, and Moldova will solve the problem of Transnistria on its own. "Any step by Ukraine towards Transnistria will be aggression against the republic", - he added.

Earlier on Monday, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Kiev was preparing provocations in Transnistria. To do this, the Ukrainian side will play a "staged invasion" allegedly by the Russian military. It is planned to dress Ukrainian soldiers in the uniform of the Russian army. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that they continue to monitor the situation.

In mid-February, Maya Sandu announced an impending coup in the country. According to her, the Moldovan special services confirmed the information of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky about attempts to destabilize the situation in the country. On the eve of this, the Ukrainian president also speaks about it. He noted that the Ukrainian special services allegedly intercepted Russia's plan to change the democratic order in the republic. Ukraine handed over this information to the Moldovan authorities.
