New Zealand has imposed new sanctions against Russia

24 февраля 2023, 04:31
Restrictive measures affected 87 citizens of the Russian Federation.

The New Zealand authorities announced "one of the largest rounds of sanctions against Russia to date".

"This is another demonstration of New Zealand's strong condemnation of its illegal actions", - Foreign Minister Nanaya Mahuta said.

The blacklist includes politicians close to Russian leader Vladimir Putin, members of the CEC and the military. The names of those who fell under the restrictions are not given. The measures automatically apply to family members of those included in the list, as well as other persons associated with them.

The day before, Australia announced the next anti-Russian sanctions. She added about 90 individuals and 40 Russian companies to the list of restrictions. Melbourne, as well as New Zealand, imposed sanctions against employees of the Russian Central Election Commission, the military, a number of ministers and governors.
