After the President sends candidates to the members of the Public Chamber, the formation of its new composition will begin. Over the next month, public chambers in the regions should choose one representative, including new regions, according to a statement on the Kremlin's website.

The Public Chamber exercises control over the activities of federal executive authorities and regional executive authorities. It was established in 2005. It consists of 40 people according to the presidential quota, another 43 people from public associations and one representative from the regions. The current composition of the Public Chamber was approved in 2020. His term of office expires this year.
