Zelensky called the past year a "year of pain"

The President of Ukraine (pictured) stated his attitude to the past period of his independence in his telegram channel.

In the posted video, Zelensky said that 2022 was the year of "pain, regret, faith and unity".

"On February 24, millions of us made a choice: not a white flag, but a blue-yellow flag", - RBC quotes Zelensky as saying.

The President of Ukraine believes that this year should be the "year of victory" for the republic. She wished the citizens of the country to direct their forces to the restoration of the country, the return of refugees, rapprochement with key partners.

Earlier, in his address to the Federal Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Putin also expressed confidence that the near future will be a time of victory, but not for Ukraine, but for Russia.

A number of politicians believe that in 2023, a military conflict between Russia and Ukraine will be completed. However, estimates of the likely outcome of the campaign vary. On the eve of the anniversary of the start of its own, Western countries imposed new packages of sanctions against the Russian Federation in order to push Russia to end hostilities as soon as possible.

At the same time, NATO members promised to provide Ukraine with new tranches of assistance, including military. The first country to offer Ukraine long-range weapons was the United Kingdom. On February 24, she also introduced sledges against 92 officials of Rosatom, Rostec, Almaz-Antey Corporation and a number of other strategic enterprises of the Russian Federation.
