iPhone imports from India doubled in 2022

A year earlier, the figure was 79 thousand devices. According to the GS Group report, the data of which are cited by Vedomosti, the total volume of parallel iPhone imports into the country last year consisted by 15% of phones supplied from India. In 2021, India's share in these supplies was only 2.2%. To date, China remains the leading exporter of "apple" smartphones.

Last year, the volume of parallel imports of iPhones was three times lower than the official import from 2021. In September last year, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov announced that the new iPhone 14 will be delivered to the country by parallel import.

In January, it became known that, despite the mechanism of parallel import, the demand for iPhone smartphones halved during the year. Experts noted that this is due to the departure of the manufacturer from the Russian Federation and the economic situation in the country. According to Marvel Distribution, 2.2 million iPhone smartphones were sold in the country from January to November 2022.
