Three people have appeared in court charged with the murder of Hong Kong influencer Abby Choi, The Guardian reports. This is the ex-husband of the deceased Alex Kwong Kong-chi, his father and brother. Kwong's mother is accused of obstructing justice. Another person has been added by the police to the list of suspects.
Fragments of the 28-year-old model's body were found on Friday in a refrigerator in a village house. An identity card, credit cards and other items belonging to the victim were also found there. After searching the house and cemetery on Sunday, police found several more body parts believed to belong to Choi: a skull, hair and several ribs. They were in a cooking vessel. A meat grinder and an electric saw were also found there. According to police, a small hole was found in the back of the skull, which indicates a "fatal attack" on the victim. Most likely, the woman was attacked in a car, which was seized as evidence, and then taken to the house. The torso and arms of the victim have not yet been found.
The ex-husband of the murdered woman was arrested at the Hong Kong pier on Saturday. According to the police, he tried to leave the city on a speedboat. When arrested, Kwong was carrying HK$ 500,000 and a watch worth about $4 million.
Choi was well known as a model and an influencer, she has more than 100,000 followers on social networks. The victim left two children. According to investigators, the woman had financial disputes over tens of millions of Hong Kong dollars with her ex-husband and his family, who were dissatisfied with the way the model manages her finances. Choi's last post was a week ago, it was pictures from a photo shoot she did for the fashion publication L'Officiel Monaco.
