Two Russians aged 43 and 27, suspected of transmitting information about military facilities to Ukraine, were detained in Sevastopol. This is reported by the FSB of Russia.

The suspects were taken into custody for two months.

As specified in the FSB, the detainees acted as gunners. On their own initiative, they contacted the Ukrainian special services, intending to transfer information about the location of Russian military facilities for money. The leak of this information could cause damage to the country's defense capability, the ministry noted.

One of the detainees, a 43-year-old resident of Sevastopol, managed to transmit information about the location of military facilities by e-mail. The second suspect confirmed by phone that he was ready to cooperate with the Ukrainian special services, but did not have time to give them any information.

Criminal cases were initiated against the detainees under Articles 275 and 275.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for treason and establishing contacts with a foreign state. According to the first article, the accused face imprisonment of up to 20 years, according to the second - up to eight years.

In mid-February, FSB officers detained a supporter of a Ukrainian nationalist organization who arrived in the country disguised as a Ukrainian refugee. He planned to promote the views of the organization among the Rostov youth.
