According to Interfax, with reference to the data of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation and the administration of the Tomsk region, a comprehensive check of the readiness of public notification systems with the launch of electric sirens and the replacement of the TV and radio airwaves scheduled for the morning of March 1 has been postponed indefinitely.
"According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, comprehensive inspections have been postponed in connection with hacker attacks on the communications infrastructure", - the report says.
The news agency clarified that the postponement of the inspection affects all regions of Russia.
On the eve it became known that hackers staged mass attacks on the servers of many Russian structures and media sites. In particular, the websites of a number of radio stations were attacked by intruders. Instead of traditional broadcast messages, radio listeners and motorists in many regions of the country heard a signal on the radio: "Attention everyone! Air alert!" followed by warnings of an impending missile strike.
Earlier, the Ministry of Emergency Situations explained that the reason for the appearance of such messages was the consequences of hacker attacks. Citizens were urged to remain calm and not to believe the statements of the attackers.
