Following the Tbilisi City Court, the Georgian Court of Appeal rejected the petition of the lawyers of former President Mikhail Saakashvili to postpone the punishment or release their client from the execution of the sentence and transfer to a foreign clinic for treatment. The court found the petition groundless.
The Georgian authorities are confident that the support of the Ukrainian authorities for former President Saakashvili is capable of disrupting stability in the country.
