Information about the separation of an ice floe with fishermen was received by the ODS CUKS of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Sakhalin region on March 5. This happened in the area between the villages of Starodubskoye and the Seaside of the Dolinsky district. The rescue operation involved 20 people and 10 pieces of equipment, including 10 employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and 5 pieces of equipment.
"The rescue of fishermen from the broken ice has been completed, 6 people came ashore on their own, 12 people were transported by rescuers working under an agreement with the administration of the Dolinsky district", - a message on the Telegram channel of the regional headquarters of the Russian Emergencies Ministry said.
Rescuers also conducted an inspection of the detached ice field for the presence of people.
The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Sakhalin region warned the population about the danger of going out on the ice on the southeastern coast of Sakhalin, the department noted that significant tidal fluctuations and a spin wind are expected on March 6.
