The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to submit a report on the progress of the inspection on the video message of residents of the Kostroma region, outraged by the destruction of city trolleybuses.

According to the IC of Russia, the head of the department reacted to the complaint of citizens addressed to him related to the problem of public transport reform in Kostroma.

The reason for the indignation of citizens by the actions of local authorities was the plans of the Kostroma City Hall to destroy the existing urban passenger electric transport system in the city from July 1: the authorities intend to replace silent, roomy and eco-friendly city trolleybuses with buses, citing the need to save budget funds.

At the same time, citizens categorically oppose the destruction of trolleybuses and collect signatures in defense of electric transport, referring to the plans of the Russian authorities to expand the number of rolling stock with electric motors on Russian roads.

Citizens consider the actions of Kostroma officials destroying trolleybuses illegal and ask Bastrykin to intervene in solving the problem.

"According to this fact, the investigative bodies of the UK Russia has organized a preliminary investigation in the Kostroma region. The results of the inspection have been put under control at the central office of the department", - the IC RF said in a statement.

Earlier it was reported that the UK also began checking on the fact of messages in Mass media about violations of the rights of a wheelchair user who has been locked up in four walls for 8 years. According to the results of the inspection, the department opened a criminal case on the negligence of officials who did not provide the disabled person with the ramp he needed in a timely manner.
