The head of the Ministry of Health Mikhail Murashko said that Japan's decision to stop the supply of vaccines and medicines to Russia is not tough.

According to Mikhail Murashko, the current situation will push Russia to accelerate import substitution and actively develop its own production.

"As for Japan, I want to note that they have not made any tough decisions, but this is a signal for us. The fact that they said it today, it was not followed by any strict restrictions", - Interfax news agency quoted the minister as saying.

According to Murashko, Russian manufacturers need to increase the pace of work and "go to those markets where they will not create obstacles".

Murashko promised that there is currently no shortage of medicines from the list of international nonproprietary names in the Russian Federation, but some drugs will be replaced by domestic ones, and measures will also be taken to accelerate the import of analogues from friendly countries.

On the prohibition of deliveries to Russia of vaccines and medical products from Japan became aware on February 3. The reason for the ban was the expansion of anti-Russian sanctions caused by the ongoing military special operation of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine.
