Recruitment of cadets to military universities of Russia will be increased to 18 thousand people

This was stated by the head of the Russian Defense Ministry Sergey Shoigu.

According to him, in 2023, the country's military universities should accept about 18 thousand "motivated and trained students and cadets" in 280 specialties.

According to Kommersant, in 2021, the Ministry of Defense intended to enroll about 12.5 thousand cadets in military universities.

According to the Ministry of Defense, among the applicants, the most popular areas of training are military pilots, paratroopers, navigators, sailors, tankers and motorized skirmishers.

Among the candidates for admission, there is a high interest in engineering specialties related to the operation of the latest models of weapons and equipment, the military department notes.

Earlier it was reported that, as an experiment, female cadets began to be admitted to some specialties for the first time.
