Three thermal power plants were damaged as a result of shelling of critical infrastructure of Ukraine on Thursday, March 9. This was announced by the Ukrainian energy holding "DTEK".

"According to preliminary data, there were no casualties. As a result of the shelling, the equipment of the CHP was seriously damaged", - the company said in a Telegram message.

The company did not specify the thermal power plants in which regions came under fire.

The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine noted that energy facilities in Kiev, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, Odessa, Dnipropetrovsk and Zhytomyr regions were under fire on Thursday. The line that fed the Zaporozhye NPP was damaged. Earlier it was noted that the station is completely de-energized. The Ministry of Energy clarified that the station is now running on diesel generators.

The mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko said that the city was de-energized by 15%. As a result of the shelling, power engineers were forced to turn off the power supply.

On Thursday morning, air raid sirens sounded all over the country.

It's worth reminding that the Russian military has been attacking the critical infrastructure of Ukraine since October last year in response to the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge.
