On March 10, deputies of the National People's Congress re-elected the current leader of the country unanimously. The elections were held at the plenary session by secret ballot: 2952 deputies joined them.

He was also re-elected to the post of head of the Central Military Council of China, which exercises unified command of all the Armed Forces of the People's Republic of China.

Recall that for the first time Xi Jinping was elected President of the People's Republic of China in March 2013. In the same month of 2018, he was re-elected for a term of five years.

At the end of last year, it became known that Russian leader Vladimir Putin held talks with Xi Jinping and invited him to Moscow in the spring of 2023. He stressed that relations between Moscow and Beijing are currently the best in history. Xi Jinping assured his Russian counterpart that China is ready to increase strategic cooperation with Russia.
