For the first time in the last year, no one escaped from the Russian colonies

"For the first time in the modern history of the penal enforcement system, thanks to the coordinated actions of the personnel, escapes from the custody of convicts and persons in custody were not allowed", - said the head of the department Arkady Gostev.

He noted that last year the change in the internal regulations of the pre-trial detention center was completed. They are aimed at improving the conditions of detention. As a result, by the end of the year, the number of crimes in places of detention decreased by almost 28%, he noted.

It's worth reminding that over the past 25 years, the number of escapes from prison has decreased by 140 times. If in the early 90s there were about 40 such cases, by 2018 their number had decreased to one.

So, for example, in 2021, from a temporary detention facility to Five defendants escaped from the Moscow region, including Alexander Mavridi, who was accused of murdering the owner of the "Meat Empire" Vladimir Marugov. Later they managed to find them. Another article was added to their charges for escape.
