The commission of the reserve "Kiev-Pechersk Lavra" began work on the audit of the property. Its members arrived with a check on the territory of the monastery, according to Ukrainian media, without the necessary documents and notification of the clergy.

"Together with Vladyka Pavel (Metropolitan of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church), he recorded an appeal about the violation of legal procedures, as well as an appeal to our believers to pray and stand for our common Shrine, which they want to illegally take from the monks of the Lavra", - Metropolitan Varsonofy of Vinnytsia and Barsky said on his page on the social network (quoted by Interfax").

He noted that the meeting with the inspectors on the territory of the monastery was a surprise for him.

On Friday, the directorate of the national reserve "Kiev-Pechersk Lavra" notified the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) of the need to leave the territory of the monastery before March 29. This decision was made based on the results of the work of the interdepartmental group, which announced the alleged violations by the UOC of the terms of the contract for the operation of state property. The Minister of Culture of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko considers the expulsion of the UOC from the Lavra a "natural, normal process," as he said in an interview with TSN. He explained his position by the fact that the UOC has not declared independence from the Moscow Patriarchate.
