According to the press service of VTB subsidiary bank in Kazakhstan, retail customers in December last year were able to issue a digital card of the Russian national payment system "Mir". According to it, they make payments in the VTB KZ Online mobile application, make online purchases and receive transfers from cards of the same system issued by any bank. An account can be opened in tenge at any branch of VTB Kazakhstan, and immediately after receiving the card, it will be connected to the Mir Pay application to withdraw cash from ATMs that support NFC technology. You can top up the virtual card from your account in the mobile application, transfer from another Mir card or a third-party bank account using the details.

Now the cards began to be produced in plastic.

- The card will become indispensable for people traveling to Russia for study, work or for personal purposes. After all, thanks to her, you will always be able to pay for purchases and withdraw money," VTB clarified.

In December last year, Washington allowed banks in Kazakhstan to perform operations on payment cards of the Russian Mir system, which belong to private individuals. But these operations will be under special control in order to prevent the use of easing to circumvent anti-Russian sanctions, the Agency for Regulation of the Financial Market of Kazakhstan clarified.
