According to Interfax, with reference to the statement of the Secretary of the General Council of United Russia Andrei Turchak, the document was submitted by the working group on the issues of ITS. The essence of the innovations is that now in order for a fighter to be recognized as dead, it will be enough to have a statement from the commander who saw his death.
"If there are no direct witnesses to this, but the person is missing, his recognition as missing will take no more than six months", - is said in themessage.
Having received information about the missing fighter, relatives will be able to recognize him as dead through the court.
Previously, to confirm the death of a missing military man, it was necessary to wait two years from the moment of the end of hostilities.
Now the procedure will be shortened and simplified.
The new law will affect the legal relations that have arisen since February 24, 2022, and will apply to all military personnel and mobilized, missing or dead in the SVO zone.
The amendments were made after complaints to the President of the Russian Federation from relatives of the dead and missing, who, due to the complexity and duration of bureaucratic procedures, could not receive the benefits, payments and social support measures due to the loss of a breadwinner for a long time.
