Forever the first: Alla Pugacheva became the most popular "media" celebrity of the year

The digital agency "Interium" found out which of the representatives of the creative sphere was in the spotlight of the press for the year. The first three were taken by Alla Pugacheva, Philip Kirkorov and Maxim Galkin*. They were able to push Ksenia Sobchak and Olga Buzova, the former favorites of the media, in the ranking.

In total, 740 people representing such creative fields as theater, cinema, television, music, museums, writing, fashion, etc. were studied. The index was calculated from several parameters: the number of articles, the quality of materials, coverage, citations and reactions to publications in social networks.

The media covered the details of the family's move and the sale of Pugacheva's real estate, and also quoted the Prima Donna's comments. There was a lot of noise around the singer's statements, which did not leave readers indifferent. In a similar rating for 2021, Alla Pugacheva took 3rd place, and now she has surpassed Olga Buzova and Ksenia Sobchak.

Philip Bedrosovich has always attracted the attention of the media with his antics and comments. Then he whips a bouquet at a concert, then he insults colleagues in the workshop, then he puts on an extravagant suit, then he apologizes for everything: these are the reasons that make the press mention Kirkorov. 

Maxim Galkin* took the third place in the rating. For a couple of Maxim and Alla Borisovna, the media chose similar reasons for articles: comments of a star who left Russia, moving, etc.

Nikita Mikhalkov, although he took the fifth place in the rating, but received the most coverage: about 230 million in total. He did not skimp on comments and spoke out about almost all the news and actions of colleagues in the shop, thanks to which he got into the largest publications. The journalist Ksenia Sobchak was the most quoted: her statements were in the media about 3.5 thousand times. She covers the news and instantly gives her assessment of what is happening. Sobchak will not remain silent, and the media will quote. 

Rock musician Yuri Shevchuk and actor Artur Smolyaninov* had the most negative coverage (recognized by foreign agents in the Russian Federation). The reason for the negativity was the position and statements of the stars about their own. As a result, they did not even get into the top thirty.

In general, it can be noted that representatives of show business, actors and singers are leading in the top 20. The exceptions are writer and politician Zakhar Prilepin, conductor Yuri Bashmet and ballerina Anastasia Volochkova. 

As it turned out, in order to attract the attention of the media over the past year, it was necessary to make a loud statement or move out of the country. 

The Interium study is based on monitoring mentions in the media for the period 06.03.2022 – 07.03.2023. Articles where persons were in the main role were taken into account. The sources for the analysis were Russian publications of any type (TV, radio, print, IA, online). The index was calculated according to the parameters: the number of articles, the quality of materials and their tone, coverage, citation and Likes & Shares.
