"In just eight months, we have completely changed our energy supply with completely new connections and terminals for liquefied gas. And no one had to freeze", - RIA Novosti quotes Scholz's speech to the deputies of the Bundestag.
Earlier it was reported that until 2022, Germany was largely dependent on gas supplies and other fuels from the Russian Federation.
After the beginning of the military special operation of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, the German authorities, along with other leaders of the EU countries, decided to refuse further cooperation with the Russian Federation in the field of energy supplies. They set a goal to diversify the country's fuel supply flows. The main bet in Germany was made on the construction of floating terminals of liquefied natural gas (LNG). The authorities of the country called their construction a priority task. According to German officials, the construction of five state-owned LNG terminals will fully ensure the country's energy independence from supplies from the Russian Federation.
