The Ministry of Labor stated that almost half of the workforce in the Russian Federation are women

In Russia, women make up 49% of the workforce, which is one of the highest rates in world practice. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation Elena Mukhtiyarova during a speech at the All-Russian forum "Women's Movement of United Russia".
"What is our portrait of women in the modern economy, in the modern employment of the Russian Federation? Speaking in terms of numbers, women make up almost half - that's 49% of the workforce. One of the highest percentages in principle in world practice", - Mukhtiyarova said (quoted by TASS).
According to the deputy head of the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation, 83.4% of working Russians have higher and secondary specialized education. She added that 55% of working women in Russia with higher education are highly qualified specialists, doctors of sciences.
