"In support of the work on Ukraine", the International Criminal Court received 10 million euros from the EU countries, and by 2025 the European Commission is going to transfer another 3 million euros to the ICC. Earlier this month, a court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"The European Union remains ready to provide the necessary material support, since the situation in Ukraine requires an adequate response", - Reynders assured during the international conference of sponsors of the ICC in London.
The EU countries are currently discussing the coordination of actions, as well as the allocation of additional assistance to the prosecutor's office. Brussels is going to consider reforming the Rome Statute to "extend the jurisdiction of the ICC to crimes of military aggression". Reynders called on Kiev to ratify the Rome Statute as soon as possible.
The ICC issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Patin and Children's Ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova on March 17. Moscow does not comply with the decisions of the Hague Court, because this order is legally null and void for the Russian side. On March 20, the RF IC opened a criminal case against the ICC judges.
