The Commission of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine has completed an inspection in the Distant caves of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. From Wednesday, access to them is again open to believers, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) said in a statement.

"At about 11 o'clock, the commission completed the inspection. Since that time, the Far and Near Caves have been open to pilgrims again", - the message says.

It is noted that it will be possible to visit the caves until four o'clock in the evening, in the following days — from nine o'clock in the morning to four o'clock in the evening on working days until March 29.

The members of the commission checked the relics and cancers of the saints, said Archimandrite Damian (Radzikhovsky), the head of the caves.

Earlier, the Ukrainian authorities ordered the monks of the Kiev Pechersk Lavra to leave it before March 29. The contract with the church on the lease of property on the territory of the monastery will be terminated from this time. Earlier, a number of priests of the lavra stated that they were not going to leave it anywhere, since they had lived here all their lives. On the eve it became known that the commission of the Ministry of Culture is conducting an inspection in the Kiev Lavra.
