A group of deputies of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg initiated consideration of a bill on fines for walking dangerous breeds of dogs without a muzzle.

The bill on fines for dog owners was approved by the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg in the first reading, it was supported by 40 deputies. After the adoption of the draft in the final version, the parliamentarians intend to apply to the State Duma with an initiative to adopt a similar regulatory legal act nationwide.

According to Kommersant, individuals want to be fined up to 3,000 rubles for walking dogs of potentially dangerous breeds without a muzzle, officials — up to 15,000 rubles, and legal entities — up to 30,000 rubles. The authors explained the need to include legal entities by the responsibility of hotels for dogs earning on services for walking pets.

The initiators of the adoption of the law were United Russia deputies Andrey Ryabokon, Alexey Makarov, Anton Solovyov, Andrey Gorshechnikov and Denis Chetverbok.

To date, the list of dangerous dogs includes 12 breeds. These are Akbash, American bandog, ambuldog, Brazilian bulldog, Bully Kutta, Alapakh purebred bulldog, wolfdog, bandog, wolf-dog hybrids, gul dong, pit bull mastiff, as well as a North Caucasian dog.
