"Today, the APU shelled the village of Borisovka in the Volokonovsky district. Most of the shells landed on the territory of an agricultural enterprise. Unfortunately, one person died. This is a man, the caretaker of the enterprise", - the governor wrote on his Telegram channel.
The head of the region expressed his condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased.
He added that three more private houses were also damaged by shell fragments. Windows were knocked out in them, facades of buildings were cut.
In addition, electricity and gas supply was damaged in the village. Emergency services are already eliminating the consequences of the shelling. The head of the district, Sergey Biketov, went to the scene of the incident.
It's worth reminding that the Belgorod region since the beginning of the special operation regularly comes under fire from the Ukrainian military. On the night of March 16, air defense systems were activated in the region again. As a result of the shelling, administrative and residential buildings were damaged by shrapnel.
The governor noted that last week the Ukrainian military intensified shelling of the region. In four days, 58 houses and 31 cars were damaged in the region. The governor promised to restore all facilities as soon as possible.
