Belarus has formed a new anti-aircraft missile regiment on the border with Ukraine

According to the Ministry of Defense of the republic, the country's Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin will visit the new military unit in the near future.

"During the formation of the regiment, special attention was paid to the creation of modern military infrastructure and training facilities, equipment for comfortable accommodation of personnel, issues of social security of servicemen and their families", - Interfax reports with reference to the data of the military department of Belarus.

In January of this year, it became known that Russia intends to create a network of joint military training centers with Belarus.

Cooperation between Russia and Belarus in the military sphere has been intensifying in recent months. The armies of both states have repeatedly conducted joint exercises, including involving aviation and air defense systems.

The creation of a joint grouping of troops of the two allied states became known in October 2022. The reason for its creation was called the emergence of a "threat from Western countries." From Russia, the group included 9,000 military, from Belarus — about 70,000 — that is, the entire Belarusian army.
