According to RBC, referring to Chinese customs data, in the first two months of this year, the country increased platinum supplies to China to 1.67 tons, from $0.2 million in January and February 2022 to $53 million in 2023.
Russia also sends more palladium to China - 8.5 times, up to 2.72 tons, in monetary terms – 5.6 times (from $27 million to $152 million). Rhodium, a platinum group metal, is exported to Beijing with a sevenfold increase (from 26.2 kg to 0.19 tons), in monetary terms — sixfold (from $ 13 million to $76 million).
At the same time, a decrease in platinum supplies by 33% was recorded last year.
