The convicted person must pay a fine of 15 million rubles.

Damir Niyazov, a former assistant prosecutor of Primorsky Krai, was sentenced to eight years in a strict regime colony and a fine of 15 million rubles for taking a bribe on a particularly large scale. The decision on March 27 was made by the Leninsky District Court of Vladivostok.

During the period from February to July 2021, Niyazov "reached an agreement to receive a bribe through intermediaries for committing actions related to supporting applications for parole of two persons serving a sentence of imprisonment," the prosecutor's office reports. The amount was one and a half million rubles. These funds were to be transferred to the ex-assistant prosecutor through intermediaries - Anton Chubenko, an employee of the prosecutor's office, and Vitaly Khandobin, a lawyer. According to Vostok Media, the prosecutor did not receive any money - the lawyer was detained by employees red-handed when handing over a bribe.

In addition to punishment, Niyazov was deprived of the rank of justice adviser and banned from holding positions in the civil service for five years.

The day before, it was reported about the harsh detention of traffic police officers in the Primorsky Territory. All of them are defendants in a criminal case on bribes. An eyewitness managed to capture the moment of detention on camera.
