As the press secretary of the Russian president noted, at the upcoming meeting it is planned to discuss, first of all, the development of the Union State, as well as, possibly, security issues.
"If necessary, of course, security-related issues can also be considered there. Moreover, the topic in connection with the well—known events, in connection with the unfriendly environment of our countries is very relevant", - Dmitry Peskov said, answering the question about the upcoming talks between the presidents of the two countries and the possible discussion of Russia's deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus. The words of the president's press secretary are quoted by RIA Novosti.
Earlier, the head of the Russian government Mikhail Mishustin said that the meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State is scheduled for April 6.
The Russian president previously noted that it is planned to complete the construction of a storage facility for tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus by July 1. In the West, information about the deployment of weapons in Belarus was considered an "attempt at nuclear intimidation" and threatened with new sanctions. The press secretary of the Russian president said that the reaction of the West and threats of sanctions from the European Union will not force Moscow to abandon its decision to deploy its nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus.
