Telecom operators will develop rules for the use of fair tariffs on the territory of the EAEU countries.

Moscow will cancel international roaming with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia, which are members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), by 2025. According to Vedomosti, referring to the roadmap to the request of the Eurasian Economic Commission sent to the largest mobile operators of the member states of the Union and the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.

The EAC requested data on fair tariffs for cellular services in international roaming. By the end of next year, operators need to develop "rules for the use of fair tariffs for communication services on the territory of the member states", and by the first quarter of 2025 - to reduce the rates of international interconnect and introduce appropriate tariffs for cellular services for subscribers in the EAEU.

According to MTS, "logical stages of implementation" are implied, but the result will depend on the implementation of the necessary measures by all participants. The representative of the company did not rule out a possible drop in revenue for all telecom operators due to the innovation.

In January of this year, we recall, it was reported that Russian cellular communication is working on the network of the Donetsk operator "Phoenix" - in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, as well as on the territory of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. MTS has been operating on the Phoenix network since December 13, 2022.

Experts assumed that the quality of mobile communications in Russia would deteriorate after Nokia and Ericsson left the market. The companies supplied most of the telecommunications equipment and almost half of the base stations.
