During the briefing, he pointed out that the United States supports the creation of a joint international tribunal for Ukraine, which would be guided in its work by Ukrainian legislation. The White House believes that the tribunal should enjoy broad international support, especially from Europeans, and "ideally" be located in one of the European countries.
Recall that the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, proposed to create a special tribunal in November 2022, who stated that this body should be created under the auspices of the UN and with the support of the closest partners of the European Union. Kiev supported the initiative, but the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrel, said that the discussion on this issue continues in the EU.
Last month, the Kiev regime announced Latvia's readiness to act as a "lawyer" at this special tribunal. In Moscow, this is considered illegal.
In mid-March, it became known that the International Criminal Court is preparing two cases against Moscow and intends to arrest Russian officials for "forcibly deporting children from Ukraine and striking at civilian infrastructure." If this really happens, the cases will become the first precedents.
Meanwhile, Slovakia believes that Russia is waging a "hybrid war" against it. The Parliament called on law enforcement agencies to take measures "to preserve security and democracy in Slovakia."
