A source in the emergency services told RIA Novosti that there was a detention of a suspected extremist who resisted. The interlocutor of the agency said that the pensioner rushed at the police with a knife, poured molotov cocktails, opened gas and threatened to blow up the house. In this regard, the residents of the house were evacuated, which can be seen on video from eyewitnesses from the scene.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Tula region reported that employees arrived to search the apartment of a 62-year-old local resident who is being charged in a criminal case. In response, he barricaded himself in and threatened to start a fire. According to the agency, two policemen received minor burns during the arrest. Other residents of the house were not injured.
"When law enforcement officers opened the door, the attacker splashed burning liquid at them, then retreated deeper into the apartment, threatening with a knife, opened the gas and tried to set it on fire. In order to prevent serious consequences, the police decided to use service weapons. The man received a gunshot wound to the abdominal cavity and lower limb," the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the region reported.
After that, he was given first aid and handed over to the ambulance crew.
An investigative task force is working on the spot.
