The money will be directed to the demining of the territory and the restoration of infrastructure.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Tokyo is already purchasing equipment for demining and clearing rubble after military operations and restoring infrastructure, including agricultural. The Japanese authorities will also help with the restoration of Ukraine's energy system.

"Japan, in cooperation with the international community, including the G7 countries, will continue to support and be close to the people of Ukraine who are facing difficulties", - the foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Plans to allocate such an amount to Kiev were reported in the middle of the month. In addition, it became known that through the NATO assistance fund, Tokyo will transfer $ 30 million to the Ukrainian side for non-lethal equipment. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida stressed that the assistance is gratuitous. He flew to Kiev on March 21 and held a meeting with President Vladimir Zelensky. It was his first meeting with the Ukrainian leader.
