In the Rostov region, 20 people were evacuated from the blocked section of the M-4 highway

Rescuers had to urgently remove 20 people from the blocked M-4 "Don" highway, said the governor of the Rostov region Vasily Golubev. The road is completely blocked due to the heavy snowfall that hit the region on March 30. By three o'clock in the morning, eight mobile heating and power points were deployed on the highway, seven temporary accommodation points - children were sent there.

"20 people were evacuated. 7 food delivery routes have been organized", - Golubev said.

Rescuers made four technological breaks in the axial barrier fence so that the cars could leave the blocked area. Bulldozers have created "pockets" for 940 and 950 km of the highway for passenger cars.

By 7 o'clock in the morning, the congestion was reduced from 60 to 30 kilometers.

The emergency mode was introduced in the city of Shakhty, Belokalitvensky, Kamensky, Krasnosulinsky and Oktyabrsky districts. To assist in towing cars and clearing snow, heavy equipment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was sent to the most difficult areas.

The closure of a section of the highway was reported on the evening of March 30.

"From 20 o'clock until a special order to eliminate the consequences of snowfall, traffic from 907 to 983 kilometers of the M-4 Don highway in both directions has been temporarily stopped", - the traffic police of Russia in the region reported. Before that, 35 thousand people were left without electricity in three settlements of the region due to accidents caused by snowfall and strong winds.
