The BRICS Summit in 2024 will be held in Kazan

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on holding the BRICS summit in Kazan in 2024.

The presidential decree notes that the decision was made because next year Russia will preside over the BRICS.

By presidential decree, the venue of the summit is determined, and an organizing committee is formed to prepare for the event. The committee will be headed by Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.

The presidential decree has been published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

Recall that last year the summit of five countries: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa was held in China. This year it will be held in August in South Africa.

Earlier, the South African Foreign Ministry invited the Russian president to the BRICS summit this year, despite the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for the Russian president. As the head of the South African Foreign Ministry, Naledi Pandor, noted, the issued warrant once again underlines the existence of double standards in the West and raises questions regarding the objectivity of the arbitrator.
