Sections of the Iskander-M operational and tactical missile system of the missile forces of the Armed Forces of Belarus went to Russia for training. The Belarusian military began operating the Iskander complex handed over by the Russian side independently in February.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced plans to deploy Russian tactical nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus. This was due to the UK's decision to provide Ukraine with armor-piercing shells containing depleted uranium. The press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov said that the reaction of the West and threats of sanctions from the European Union will not force Moscow to abandon its decision to deploy its nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus.
