Anna Kalinskaya defeated the representative of Ukraine Angelina Kalinina in the first round match of the Charleston Open. The game ended with a score 7:6 (8:6), 6:4. After the match, the Russian woman came to the net for a traditional handshake, but Kalinina went to her chair. The winner shook the judge's hand.

Earlier, Marta Kostyuk from Ukraine refused to shake hands with Russians Varvara Gracheva and Anastasia Potapova.

Recall that Russian and Belarusian tennis players were allowed to return to Wimbledon. There is a condition: Before the tournament, Russian and Belarusian players will have to sign a neutrality agreement.
