The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation proposed to increase the amount of fines for driving without Сompulsory insurance of motor third-party liability from 800 to 5000 rubles with graduation for individuals and legal entities. This was stated by Deputy Minister Alexey Moiseyev during a speech at the Federation Council.

"I think, in any case, it's certainly not 800 rubles. I think, of course, it should be at least five thousand", - Moiseyev answered the question about the level to which fines for driving without CTP can be increased (quoted by RIA Novosti).

He also mentioned the possible expediency of separating fines for legal entities and individuals, noting the need to study the situation.
