"Let's say clearly that when acquiring citizenship, they take an oath... it is clearly written that they undertake to comply with the law, love the motherland, and so on, and, accordingly, not to pose a threat to national security, a citizen who goes deliberately to such actions should be aware", - Kazakova said at a meeting of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs (quoted by RIA Novosti).

According to her, "the state has the right to grant citizenship of the Russian Federation and terminate it." A citizen retains the right to appeal against the deprivation of citizenship in court. According to Interfax, Kazakova said at the meeting that in the current "conditions, the amendment is simply necessary".
