The US Department of Defense announced on Tuesday, April 4, its intention to send Ukraine a new portion of military assistance, which will include weapons and ammunition.

The new aid package, as it follows from a message on the Pentagon's website, is estimated at $2.6 billion and consists of two parts, one of which will be sent earlier. It will include ammunition for the HIMARS MLRS and Patriot air defense systems, artillery shell interception systems, anti-tank systems, small arms, as well as transport and technical means necessary to protect the army on the battlefield. It is reported that this is the 35th package of US military assistance to Ukraine since August 2021. Its total amount has already exceeded $35 billion.

Experts of the Russian channel "Military Informant", write about the new package that judging by the transmitted list of military assistance, the United States is focusing on increasing the logistical capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine before the upcoming offensive. Now not only ammunition, but also supply trucks, tankers, as well as engineering equipment are being actively transferred.

In the new package, Ukraine will receive:

  • missiles for Patriot air defense systems;
  • missiles for NASAMS air defense systems;
  • 9 vehicles equipped with 30 mm guns to counter drones;
  • 10 cars with laser guns to counter drones;
  • 3 air surveillance radars;
  • 30 mm and 23 mm ammunition for anti-aircraft guns;
  • ammunition for HIMARS installations;
  • 122-mm rockets for Grad installations;
  • rocket launchers and ammunition for them;
  • 155-mm and 105-mm artillery shells;
  • 130 mm and 122 mm artillery shells;
  • 120 mm and 81 mm mortars;
  • 120 mm mortar ammunition;
  • 81-mm and 60-mm ammunition for mortars;
  • 120 mm and 105 mm tank shells;
  • 25 mm shells for M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles;
  • Javelin anti-tank missiles;
  • TOW anti-tank missiles;
  • anti-tank missiles;
  • high-precision aviation ammunition;
  • 3,600 small arms and more than 23 million rounds of small arms ammunition;
  • 400 grenade launchers and 200,000 rounds of ammunition;
  • 18 tactical vehicles for the evacuation of equipment;
  • 69 heavy fuel trucks and 105 fuel trucks;
  • tank bridge pavers;
  • 4 logistics vehicles;
  • 10 trucks and 10 trailers for heavy equipment transportation;
  • trucks and ten trailers for transporting heavy equipment;
  • secure communication systems;
  • satellite terminals;
  • control and diagnostic equipment for car maintenance and repair;
  • spare parts and other field equipment;
  • financing of training, maintenance and support.
